Fear tells me, “You’re not a writer. You know something about writing, sure. But you can’t put your knowledge into practice. You can’t even remember the last time you tried. After all, writing makes you tired and vulnerable. Just let yourself go brain-dead on Pinterest instead.”
Writing is hard. But isn’t everything worthwhile hard? God gave us passions for a reason, and with them we can reflect arresting glimmers of His glory.
And when I worship with aching honesty, I feel my glass fill with holy light – light that is reflected more beautifully by all my cracks and scratches.
We are here to glorify God – when we worship in the varied ways He designed us to, we see a shimmering glimpse of Heaven. That’s the beauty of the Body of Christ. And that united beauty has power.
“Therefore I urge you, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of worship.” –Romans 12:1
